Character 3: Baneshrae by JessicaDru Character 3: Baneshrae by JessicaDru
Character Creature Model - HW #3
Modeling Time Frame: 1 week
Teacher: Alex Alvarez
Program: ZBrush and Maya

download to get a .mov turn-table!

I'll be posting a textured version of this character next week. I hope! I couldn't get my normals to work properly this time around, so i pulled a render from ZBrush. More on that when i've had time to trouble shoot O_O!
I still need to sculpt the rug and the fox-tails, but i plan on doing a bit with maya's fur, or a similar program.

The original design is by the praise-worthy and amazing Ariokh:

that's great. How did you land the job with blizzard? Did you just go on in with a portfolio?

i worked my ass off in art school and the guy who owns my school gave me a shining recommendation. bliz set me up for an interview before i graduated and my interview went well. I had prepared some hard surface pieces and did an art test for the position to prove my skills. In my portfolio I included a bunch of traditional art... which helps ^_^
So i landed the gig and things have been wonderful ever since. i love my job and my team!!

wow that is so sweet. I would love to get a nice gig like that. See i went back to school a year ago to get me the fancy diploma as well as to maybe add something to my art that most people haven't added just yet. So we will see, I am in the final year as of now. How would I apply to them? Is there something on their website to submit portfolios? Problem is, I am in Canada, and I don't believe they have any Canadian locations. It would be worth the move though after school. That is so awesome for you to find a good crew and a sweet gig with Bliz. Your 3d stuff is really amazing stuff too.
